Questions/Comments from Audience  If I don’t have enough fertilizers, can I skip the first aplication and apply later? Yes you can do that, however we recommend you to apply animal manure if you do not have industrial fertilizers for the second application  Whe plants turn yellow, what kind of disease is that? Yellowish in the plat leaves is not necessarily the indication of the presence of disease. In the areas with sandy soils like here, yellowish in the plant leaves is common and in most cases is the indication of nutrients deficiency especially nitrogen. Remember to fertilizer the soil and leave crop esidues to increase organic matter in the soil Discussion and Conclusion We told them that we will be back in March/April for the Extension network visit. We asked them to apply second application of fertilizers when the plants get at knee high. There were sign of leaf eating insects. We instructed them to apply pesticides as asoon as possible. The demonstration plot has been here for four years, we expect the instructed will be followed properly.
