Discussion and conclusion
Corn spacing was followed correctly; the growing plants were well weeded and looked very good. Members of this Parish are hard workers and follow instructions precisely as it can be observed from their last year’s yield from both the corn and the beans. They harvested 15 bags of corn and 5 bags of beans which is the highest yield among all villages. They asked several questions about corn and beans and the questions were answered.
When asked about if they were adopting the practices taught in their fields, a few said they were adopting at a small scale because they were limited by the high cost of fertilizers. They were encouraged to adopt other techniques besides fertilizers which are very expensive. They were advised to weed the bean plot and plant when time for planting beans comes. They needed a SACCOS and were advised to organize themselves and communicate to the Institute of Microfinance at Tumaini University for assistance.
