Discussion and conclusion
They were weeding their corn plot on the day of the visit. Corn spacing was close to recommended; the growing corn plants looked good. According to the past experience, they were likely to work better now than before. They asked a few questions which were addressed accordingly.
When asked about if they were adopting the practices taught in their fields, a few said they were adopting at a small scale because they were limited by the high cost of fertilizers.
They were encouraged to adopt other techniques besides fertilizers which are very expensive. They were advised to weed the bean plot and plant when time for planting comes.
On SACCOS, they were advised to improve communication with the Microfinance Institute at Tumaini University to know their status.
