Discussion and conclusion
Ipalamwa parish is following good farming practices in the demo plot. Their corn crop looks very good. Their bean harvest from previous year was also impressive (> 400kg in half an acre). Their attendance is an exemplary.
When asked how many are adopting the newly taught farming practices, 16/28 said they were practicing at least in a quarter of their shambas, which is about 57% adoption. They explained the high cost of fertilizers as the major limiting factor in adopting all the practices taught in the demo plots. They were advised to apply all the practices within their capacity.
Church members’ expressed their concern about fungal attack on beans they experienced last year and asked for a fungicide. Also, they asked a number of questions concerning good farming practices and all were answered accordingly.
