Mang’ulisa In this visit we were accompined by the Pastor Lunyiliko Muhila, the assistant Parish pastor of Ipogoro parish. Topics 1. Greetings Roger delivered greetings from St. Paul Area Synod and Christ Lutheran 2. Review of the handouts  4th visit instructions • Discussion about germination, Replanting and Pest • Weeding after planting • Second fertilizers application 3. Demonstrations We demonstrated how to apply fertilizers in corn as the second application. Farmers participated in apply fertilizers in their demonstration plots. 4. Insecticide Application. We delivered a bottle of pesticides and demonstrated the ratios to be used for pesticides application. 5. Delivery. We delivered fertilizers and insecticides Item Fertilizers for Corn Pesticides Variety/Type NPK Thionex Amount 2Bag 1 bottle Demonstration plots The corn plot was planted in the mid of December 11-12, 013. The instructions were properly followed, plants are in good spacing and look good. However in some part of the plot, plants have been affected by rodents, cutting down the young plants. There were insects corn leaves. We instructed them to spray a pesticides as soon as possible. Bean have not yet planted yet. They will be planted this month. Questions/Comments from Audience  How should we measure the pesticides? Measure 20cc of the pesticides (Thionex) and mix with 15litres of water ten spray to the plants. Make sure you have diluted the chemical with the right mount of water.  Are the pesticides dangerous to our health? Yes, pesticides are dangerous to human health. They are posisonous by nature. When spraying make sure you cover your body and wear protective gears. Spary while standing the direction he wind comes and not the direction the wind goes.  What is the good time of the day to spray pesticides? Spray pesticides in the morning. This is good time of the day because at this time the wind is not so strong. Conclusion As it was in the last season, this season the plot is looking good. Instructions have been properly followed. We expect better performance from this plot. The Evangelist is commited and offer a good supervison of the demonstration plots.
