Discussion
Last year crop was not impressive, we discussed with the farmers that we are going to try new corn variety this year. Corn variety provided H625 does well in area with medium attitude while. The bean variety, Uyole Njano is also new variety here. It has done well in areas with similar characteristics. This year performance will give a good picture of the suitability of the variety here
Question:
• What is the best type of seed?
The best seed can not be identified by looking. The best seed variety is determined by yield capacity, deaseases resistant and suitability of the variety to a given area. We are going to use the demonstration plot to determin the best corn and bean seeds of this area.
Conclusion
The planting ad fertilizer application were demonstrated before the farmers. They promised to take care of the plots, to learn from it and hence to adopt the techniques. They thank their friends of Fish Lake Lutheran for supporting the program.
