2012 Companion Village Project 3rd Visit, Year Four November 27, 2012 Village Mkimbizi Pastor Bryson Msigwa Companion Immanuel Lutheran Church Attendees 08 Weather for the past month Dry Reporters Location GPS reading Pastor Mang’ulisa, Pongolani and Venance Altitude: 1604m above sea level 07043.453S O37043.245E Introduction Upon arrival, we met eight members of the church six of them females and only two males. They were in the plot with their hoes in hand making preparation for the coming season. Purpose of the visit • Delivering seeds and fertilizers • Demonstrating planting and fertilizer application Topics covered • Review of the handouts - 3rd Visit Instruction - Plant population and Fertilizer applications • Demonstrations: Planting and fertilizer applications; The attendees were given an opportunity to demonstrate on how to plant seeds and how to apply fertilizers which they did precisely. However, they were cautioned not to place seeds and fertilizers together. Conclusion Mkimbizi Parish is doing the demonstration for the fourth year. The success for the past three years has been little. This year they changed the mode of doing the work; they have assigned the whole work to the members of preaching point under Pastor Bryson Msigwa who seem to be enthusiastic with the work and eager to learn.
