Institute of agriculture in partnership with Pyrethrum Company of Tanzania is going to establish an agricultural extension program that will teach farmers better agronomic practices. The program will include three crops; corn, beans and pyrethrum. Three demonstration plots will be established from which farmers will learn farming techniques. Today was an introductory meeting.

The Visit
There is funeral in this village; most of the villagers are attending the funeral ceremony. When institute of agriculture staffs and the field officer of PCT arrived, there were one personal (an evangelist) remained behind to meet them. He received the fertilizers and seeds. It was planned to have introductory meeting and planting demonstration on the other day.

Conclusion
Pyrethrum is expected to be major income generation crop in this village. Corn and bean demonstration plots will be established together with pyrethrum plot. Aim is to provide farming training in both food and cash crops so as to increase agricultural production and help farmers to improve their lives.
